En guide till att resa med tåg genom Europa
Den lättaste vägen att ta sig ut i Europa med tåg går från Sverige via Köpenhamn och därifrån vidare till flera stora städer i Tyskland. Jag har tagit fram en rutt genom Europa som jag drömmer om, men innan vi fortsätter min påhittade resa söderut kommer här tre adresser värda ett stopp i Köpenhamn.

Det går att ta direkttåg från Malmö/Köpenhamn till Berlin med snälltåget (snalltaget.se) men för att nå andra destinationer rekommenderas tåg från Köpenhamn till Hamburg och vidare söderut. Från Hamburg tar man sig enkelt vidare med både tyska och österrikiska järnvägen (bahn.de och oebb.at) som har direktförbindelser med dag- och nattåg söderut. Berlin – Amsterdam

Jag börjar min påhittade resa med ett stopp i Berlin som jag länge längtat efter att besöka. Jag vet inte alls i förväg hur många dagar jag behöver för att upptäcka staden men jag går på känsla. Något som är bra med att resa med tåg är att det är lättare att planera om och förlänga besöket om man vill. Från Berlin fortsätter jag vidare till Nederländerna och Amsterdam, en tågresa på drygt sex timmar. Jag har aldrig besökt Amsterdam tidigare men har fått tips om att cykel är det absolut bästa sättet att ta sig runt. Jag checkar in på The Hoxton och förutom att handla tulpaner och promenera över broar tar jag gärna en båttur längst kanalerna.
Amsterdam – Luxembourg

Jag har varit i Luxembourg en gång tidigare – då bilade vi genom Europa och stannade till i det pyttelilla landet för middagspaus innan vi körde vidare. Allt jag kan här är alltså en rastplats. Men efter en snabb googling förstår jag att kan stilla mitt äventyrliga jag genom att besöka Bock Cliff, en serie underjordiska passager och tunnlar som förr användes för att gömma soldater.
Luxembourg – Paris
2,5 timmar och direkttåg
Från Luxembourg är Paris bara en kort tågresa bort och Paris är det enda stället på min påhittade rutt som jag faktiskt har besökt tidigare. Jag vill så klart passa på att besöka nya platser med varierande miljöer, vyer och aktiviteter men ett stopp i Paris är alltid befogat. I kärlekens stad spenderar jag två dagar med att gå på museum, äta croissanter och sitta på stimmiga brasserier.

Efter Paris fortsätter jag neråt i Frankrike för att göra ett stopp i Lyon, även detta en helt obekant stad. Efter ett par dagar i Lyon är det bara en kort tågresa vidare till Genève.
Geneve – Lauterbrunnen
3,5 timmar och två tågbyten

Kanske resans längsta rutt men förhoppningsvis kommer det vara värd det. Väl i Neapel byter jag tåg mot bil och kör längst med bergen vidare till Amalfikusten som är min slutdestination.

DET BÄSTA MED ATT RESA MED TÅG?
Det bästa med att tågluffa var friheten att välja precis var och när man ville åka. Jag ville hinna med att se så mycket som möjligt när jag var iväg så jag stannade inte mer än 2-3 dagar på varje ställe. Det var så många gånger jag hade bestämt slutdestination men som slutade med att jag klev av på ett tidigare stopp bara för att det såg så vackert ut, det var det absolut bästa. Det passar även bra för en obotlig tidsoptimist som mig då det bara är att ta nästa tåg om man missar det första man tänkt ta – vilket kanske inte är lika lätt med flyg. Jag tyckte även att det var fantastiskt att få uppleva alla fina vyer och landskap från fönstret. Jag ska inte heller sticka under stolen med att det kändes väldigt bra att vara snäll mot vår planet också. Det är ett SÅ bra färdmedel för att se mycket på så kort tid!
VILKEN STRÄCKA VAR HÄFTIGAST, OCH VARFÖR?
Det måste varit genom de schweiziska Alperna, det var helt fantastiskt vackert! Jag åkte med deras ”vanliga” tåg men jag vet att det finns ett annat, Bernina Express, som ska vara en jättevacker resväg men det var tyvärr fullbokat när jag skulle åka (bra att vara ute i god tid med sådana populära tåg under högsäsong).

I Interrailkortet ingår alla tåg som inte kräver platsreservationer, dessa tar lite längre tid och stannar på fler stopp, det är snabbtågen som kräver en biljett utöver Interrailkortet. En platsreservation kan kosta från 50 kronor till 500 kronor. Det går att komma undan och enbart åka med ”regional” tågen.
