Citybröllop i New York – en guide till allt du behöver veta!
Kristina och Stefan gifte sig i New York den 20 september 2019. Paret höll en intim vigsel i Central Park tillsammans med sina 14 gäster. Kristina har till min stora glädje skrivit ihop en guide fylld av inspiration och praktisk information för alla som drömmer om ett bröllop över Atlanten!
– Att gifta sig med sitt livs kärlek är stort och det finns antagligen lika många olika sorters bröllopsstilar som det finns par som gifter sig. För oss fanns det bara en plats som gällde, New York, som ju ändå är livets stad. Ingen annanstans känner jag mig mer levande, inspirerad eller energifylld. Ja, som tur var tyckte min numera man samma sak. Så det var lätt att bestämma sig, klart vi ska gifta oss i det stora äpplet. Sedan började själva jobbet.
– Att gifta sig i New York är väldigt populärt och du kan göra det hur litet eller stort som du vill. Vi valde (eller ja, vårt sparkonto fick en del att säga till om med) ett litet, intimt bröllop med efterföljande middag med bara de allra närmsta. Så, eftersom det är en hel del att tänka på rent praktiskt kommer här en guide för er som kanske går i samma tankar som oss. Först avklarar vi det legala och praktiska know-how (den tråkiga delen). Sedan kommer det roliga, att botanisera bland möjliga locations både för ceremoni och efterföljande middag och fest. Om ni som läser detta, är lite som jag, alltså en person helt besatt av att surfa runt efter de bästa restaurangerna i de hetaste kvarteren med den snyggaste inredningen, ja då vet ni, att detta tar ett litet tag – men nu kör vi!
Det legala och praktiska
När man gifter sig i det stora äpplet gör man det enligt NYC State lag, vilket är i överenskommelse med Sverige, så, ni behöver inget dokument från Skatteverket! Locations
Man får gifta sig nästan överallt i staden, så kanske har du redan en favoritplats? Vi hade några olika alternativ: The High Line (den gamla tågrälsen som går ovanför Manhattan från Meatpacking och ett par kvarter uppåt), Dumbo (stadsdel i Brooklyn, precis vid Brooklynbridge) eller Central Park. Valet föll till slut för Central Park. Dels för att det är lättare med yta där och för att kombinationen park/skyskrapa är så fantastiskt vackert. Om man vill säkra en plats går det bra att hyra. Vi valde att hyra en plats som heter Cop Cot vid ingången till 57e gatan. Fantastiskt vackert och det kostar bara ca 20 dollar att hyra i två timmar. Igen – Är ni också sådana som genomsöker nätet efter de bästa restaurangerna, hotellen, barerna etc innan ni åker på semester? Jag är absolut en sådan person och man kan säga att den här resan inte var ett undantag… Jag tycker om ställen med snygg interiör, bra stämning och så klart – riktigt schysst mat! När det gällde vårt bröllop ville jag så gärna att stället skulle andas mycket New York om ni förstår vad jag menar, gärna med utsikt över skyskraporna utan att vara för turistigt. Ja, en lång lista med önskningar helt enkelt.
Här vill jag bara trycka på att det är viktigt att ta in offerter och förslag från de ställen som är aktuella för dig. Mycket av tillgängligheten beror ju på storleken på sällskapet med. Vi var 14 stycken, så jag letade efter ett stort bord, inte en privat yta. Boucherie finns på flera platser på Manhattan men den i West Village är min favorit. Andas så mycket New York, lite lagom högljutt och bra om man är ett lite större sällskap. Maten är också galet bra! Kött är deras specialitet här, men finns även gott om andra alternativ.

Eatalys Bierreria är en rooftop som har öppet året runt. De ändrar om inredning och deco efter årstid och är en helt fantastisk plats att vara på. De har även ett eget litet bryggeri på taket, så om du är en sucker för lite nördiga ölsorter så är detta ditt place. Men annars också, för både drinkar, vin och mat är otroligt bra.

The Loeb Boathouse:
Ni har sett den i massa olika filmer och det är turistigt jag vet. Men det är också så vackert, jag menar vattnet, Central Park, skyskraporna…De gör massa bröllopsmiddagar med, men personalen verkar ungefär 0% pepp på det – Jag var i kontakt med deras personal och de var så fyrkantiga och tråkiga att det alternativt gick bort direkt. Men gå dit för ett glas bubbel eller rosé vet jag!

Det här är antagligen den absolut sötaste lilla restaurangen som finns. Om du gillar flott och pampigt går detta bort, men gillar du lite mer avslappnade, genuina ställen så är det här ett tips! All mat är vegansk och så god. Dessutom har de livemusik, oftast jazz, alla dagar i veckan.

Westlight vid William Vale Hotel:
Ett ord kan sammanfatta allt med både det här hotellet och deras rooftop där vi hade vår bröllopsmiddag – Magiskt!! Hotellet ligger i Williamsburg, Brooklyn och har den mest fantastiska utsikt över Manhattan. Vi bodde även på hotellet. Det svider lite i plånboken, men hotellet är underbart, likaså deras restaurang. Alla rum har en egen balkong, med utsikt över Manhattan eller Brooklyn. Servicen är otroligt bra och de kan hantera vilken bridezilla som helst!
Vi var där i september och vädergudarna hade hört vår bön och gav oss 25 grader och sol hela dagen. Middagen serverades som smårätter, mycket vegetariska alternativ och allt var väldigt gott. Börjar nästan gråta när jag skriver detta, inte enbart för att det såklart är emotionellt, men även för att jag saknar hela hotellet, utsikten och maten!
